m0n0wall is an embedded software distribution that turns an ordinary (embedded) PC into a fully-featured firewall.

The first m0n0wall version was released in 2003, and m0n0wall is now a mature project that has laid the cornerstone for several other successful open source projects, including FreeNAS, AskoziaPBX and pfSense.
